    Angry VNC Over a Network

Im really getting stressed with this...My sister (as per usual) is not looking after her PC. I want to run VNC through the network. So, VNC starts, i type her NETWORK IP(in the server name box). Wont connect. Ive opened all ports on the router that are needed, still wont connect. I thought there may be a problem, like the PC's were "talking" so i downloaded angry IP scanner. Gets her PC, its name, and status is alive. Yes, im a n00b with networks, so can anyone shed some light on this? Thanks in advance

Just a side note, if your using VNC on a lan, you can type the machine name instead of ip address.

Also have a look at Ultr@vnc, it´s the quickest variant I´ve found (by miles too).

If she's running Windows XP or 2003 you can activate a thing called "Remote Desktop". That's a build in version for connecting thru internet/networks and access your computer. It's way better than VNC and just running on one port, 3389. Everyone with a Windows XP or 2003 computer can easily connect with this builtin software.

You can activate this by right clicking on - My Computer - Choose properties - Go to Remote - Check in "Allow users to connect remotely to this computer" - Press OK.

Done and done, now you can just sit back and enjoy. Simply press (on your computer) Start - Programs - Accessories - Communications - Remote Desktop Connection. Enter her ip, and voila!

    Good luck!

yeah - saves memorizing 20 IP's (if you havent all ready)

    - also, if she like my sister, she'll learn to fight back (ie, shuting down VNC as she logs on,)
