Issues setting a wireless Access point up with a Draytek 2820

Bit of a stumper (I'm probably overlooking something obvious and can't see the wood for the trees). Recently (as in just before Chrimbo) I got my hands on a Galaxy S Wi-Fi 5 mini tablet/PMP (think of it as something like a Galaxy phone without the phone bits). Trouble is my house isn't particularly friendly when it comes to wi-fi so I've only got a wired router (the aforementioned Vigor 2820, the rest of the house uses power plug adapters). So I bought an Edimax EW7416APn V2 wi-fi range extender/Access Point (plugged into the 2820).

This is where the trouble starts, it works and works fine, nice and fast stable connection, the only drawback is that the connection is wide open and I've found no way of getting access to the access points management console (even hooking it directly up to the computer, nada) to secure the connection.

Any suggestions/help would be very much appreciated.

Update - After a bit of faffing around with ip addresses finally got access to the management console with everything set up (not withstanding a lapse in memory when it comes to the password ).
