    Yagi Wifi

Has anyone made their own Yagi Antenna or purchased one, I wonder how much better the connection is. Are they good to transmit data?

    Re: Yagi Wifi

At these frequencies it would be highly directional and also very fiddly. TBH I wouldnt bother.

Unless Saracen thinks otherwise of course
    Cheers, David

    Re: Yagi Wifi

i got an 18db one of ebay for 10 quid and when its on the ubiquiti wifi station on the laptop you can pick up every ones wireless with it but you have to point it straight at it for it to work over a long distance.

    Re: Yagi Wifi

The other thing I have just seen is adding your usb dongle to a satellite dish. Though that is bulky but would solve the directly pointing problem a bit.

    Re: Yagi Wifi

what do you want to use it for?

i think with 500mw of power it will go for 5 miles and 10 with 1000mw= 1watt

the yagi i have has a power limit of 100watts

not sure what the uk power limit is but the wifi station can output 1000mw and have seen amps on ebay up to 3000mw 3w
