    Oh Yeah !

Some of you may remember that I was helping put together a business case for government funding for FTTC in our village/town.

I received a long letter today,

"I am pleased to inform you that at the meeting of the Defra National Approvals Panel
on 15th March 2012 it was decided that your EOI be Endorsed with conditions.

You are therefore invited to prepare a Full Application for grant funding, subject to
you being able to address the following conditions, which are specific to your project."

    Nice one

Are the conditions they've imposed anything difficult, or are they readily achievable?

    Re: Oh Yeah !

Pretty straight forward actually. Stuff that I have been trying to do anyway.

Tie up with other schemes and schools to get economies of scale and more efficient Capex.
    More detailed market analysis
    More detailed costing.
    Naming project team etc.

Quite excited about this. Move over VM !

    Re: Oh Yeah !

It's nice to see progress with the fibre market in place that would not be viable for the major telecoms to do. Good luck to you and I hope you bring super fast internet to your town/village

    Re: Oh Yeah !

Sure. There was a meeting at the local council on Wednesday which I couldn't attend (working) so my parish council rep went. Hoping to catchup with him this weekend.
The key is get all the local councils, parish upwards, to visibly support the bid. There's a lot of government language that's quite specialised in terms of grants, targets and policies that need to be name-checked.
