Cheapest way to connect 2 PC's Wirelessly

I have a friend who needs to connect her son's PC to hers, so he can share her BB conn. PC's are in different parts of the house, so wireless is definately the way to go, but money is tight. Any suggestions as to what kit is required & how to proceed?

    Cheers chaps.

If its just sharing the internet connection, the odd file, and games then a pair of identical 11MBs cards in adhoc mode would do the trick.

2 of these should do the trick :-

I dont have any personal experience of these cards but the reviews on the site seem to be mainly positive, although it looks like there are issues with the win98 drivers. Generally the ebuyer own brand range is origo kit, so just look for the latest drivers.

Is there any art to setting these up so the 2 pc's (one XP & one Win98) talk to each other?

Not really, just go through the options when setting it up in adhoc mode. Get it working first then put on some sort of encryption, 128bit WEP should do the trick.

With a hammer. It can be a pain in the bottom, and if you are not too experienced (like me!) rather hit and miss. XP has spoiled us as far as networking goes.
    Not around too often!
