Need help with internet wireless or wired

So i got BT infinity and is not in my room because i dont have a wall socket and its in my mothers room so now what i am using is wireless and my internet speed is really low So can i get a long cable and connect that cable from my mothers room and take the router and put in my room and connect it it will make internet at least little faster if i connect my internet with wired
i want to have better connection for gaming online because now i keep getting kicked because of my internet and high ping

and my internet speed as it shows it has 54.0Mbps on status
