New a power adapter for BT Infinity modem with a longer lead.

I've had infinity installed today and so far so good :smileyhappy:

Only problem I have is that I need to move the modem and router away from where they are at the moment. I've ordered a longer RJ11 cable, I take it that's the one I need for the modem? I also need a longer lead on the power unit.

I'm not the best when it comes to things like this, I've noted that the modem is 12v 0.7. Does that mean I can get any 12v power unit and it will be fine for powering the modem.

As long as it has the same size (and polarity) connector and is rated to at least .7A

So if it's stated as 12v 2.0A is that ok? As long as it's over .7?

It's only about 20cm to short from the socket and I did not really want to use an extension lead if I can get another power adapter with a slightly longer lead. I guess I could just use a single gang extension.

Yes, but check polarity and connector size also. You know you can buy extensions for the DC cable?
