Here's the problem. I've just moved house which is only 500m away from my old one, in terms of driving distance. I notified BT that I'd be moving 8 days before I did so. They told me that they'd have everything setup a few days after I moved in (by today). They rang me the other day telling me that Fibre wasn't available for the new house, which I had no choice but to agree to because I was in a contract. They didn't connect me yesterday and said they'd ring me today. No luck. Due to having 1 bar of signal at the best of times, it's been a struggle to get anything done. I did, however, manage to check last night about to fibre situation as I was a little confused that a 10 year old house merely 500m away from my old one couldn't get fibre. Lo and behold, I can get it. I even went on BT's speed estimator (not their phone line checker when buying a package) and they estimate a speed of 71 Mb/s - which is obviously fibre speed. I checked Sky's site and they offer fibre, so do plusnet, talk talk, EE, John Lewis etc etc.
I rang BT today, told them the situation and they said they'd have to pass it on to their tech team. I want to know wether because they can't offer me the contract I originally signed up for if I'd be able to leave my contract now. I've already had enough of BT messing me around telling me they'd ring me etc. I NEED internet for college work as all of my documents are cloud based (so is my whole computer back up).
I'd also like some links for proof rather than just telling me I can - I don't want to get into a legal battle and have no ground to stand on.
Many thanks
