Asus PCE-AC68 disabled and will not enable

I've just got one of these cards as it was billed as the fastest wifi card available.
Hooked it up to my system:
Asus ROG Ranger Z97 mobo running Win7 64bit with a Virgin Superhub 2.
The card is recognised, but shows as disabled.
I've installed and reinstalled drivers from the included disk and from the Asus website.
Device manager says the device drivers are working OK.
In network adapter settings I click on enable device and a box appears saying enabling, then disappears and the card is still disabled.

    Looks like a conflict somewhere.
I would have thought and Asus wifi card would work OK with an Asus Mobo.
Not sure if it's related to the Virgin Superhub.
All my other devices, Ipad etc pick up the router OK and half a dozen others in the street.
So why won't this card enable????

    Fixed it at last.
After a lot of barking up the wrong tree, including installing win 8.1 to see if it worked.
Opened services.msc, scrolled down to WLN settings, which was disabled.
Started them and hey presto all the wifi networks showed up.

Simple solutions but a hell of a lot of faffing about to get there.

How do you like that card = is it indeed as fast and reliable as they advertise?

Re: Asus PCE-AC68 disabled and will not enable

There is not much distance between the adapter and the modem where I am using it but even so the speed doesn't deteriorate one bit through the walls which is what I was looking for. The only issue that I don't personally have a problem with but others might is that when using the adapter for high bandwidth tasks there is a slight clicking noise that comes from my adapter. Might be a isolated issue.
