Superhub 3 bugs might be related to this

damit posted before.... anyway looks like this is still a problem for most SH3 users.

Whether or not you notice it may depend on what you use your connection for.

Pingtest.net is not useful for diagnosing this problem. The following tool (or a longer test such as thinkbroadband's BQM) is much better at picking up on it: http://www.dslreports.com/tools/puma6
Thanks, indeed there did seem to be a couple of issues highlighted but can't say I ever noticed anything. Our connection is mainly used by my son for gaming(xbox one) and my daughter who is youtube and minecraft etc. My usage is mixed, no one has reported any issues/lag or otherwise but anything that provides a better experience is always good.

Though funnily enough I was thinking about getting a new router for wireless and using the superhub in modem mode. However if I understand it correctly the problem would still remain?

Yes, I don't think switching to modem mode resolves the issue but there is some anecdotal evidence it can lessen the impact as there is less CPU load when it's not doing router functions.

does anyone know if there's a firmware fix to this yet? Going into the VM settings there isn't an option to update firmware - presumably they have to push it from their side?

Yeah firmware updates are entirely controlled by VM, you can't install them manually. They occasionally ask for firmware beta testers but I'm not aware of even a beta firmware for this yet.
