    Demon Internet Broadband.. Any good?

I've been considering broadband for a while, and have long thought a sensible choice to be someone like Nildram, but when you read the fine print, it all gets a bit expensive.

Anyhow, Demon are offering a 1MBps uncapped, static-ip service for £30 a month with free connection.

They used to have pretty fat pipes a few years ago when I used them for dialup - are they still good?

    Advice much appreciated..

Excellent. when did they start offering that? I've been with Demon for years, first with their £10 a month dial up and now with 512 broadband. Their service is very good. I did worry a bit when they got taken over by someone, but their standards don't seem to have dropped.

Been with demon since 10.00 per month dos software days.
Now on demon 512/256 adsl connection.
I have less grief than people with other broadband suppliers.

    HomeOffice 1000 , @29.99 , contention 50:1
is same as my system except for 1000/256 , so i would certainly recommend the service.

Yup, it was the HomeOffice1000 that caught my eye.. Thanks for the opinions!

I signed up on Tuesday, and said yes to the free ADSL modem they were offering - I'll be going for a decent VPN wireless router, but at least the freebie will get me going for a couple days before payday...
