What connection is the fastest ?

I'm on the lookout for a ADSL modem, i've seen quite a few around but one question puzzles me.

What is the fasest way to connect ?
Internal ADSL Modem
USB ADSL Modem or
Ethernet ADSL Modem ?

Anybody got any ideas on this

I prefer Ethernet ADSL theough an Ethernet modem or a Router

I have 2mbit ADSL 2048/256

Although you can get up to 4mbit ADSL 4096/400

I think they take roughly the same time to connect. I think the pci ADSL modems would be the best choice. Especially for gaming as you get a faster ping. Make sure you get the Conexant 3805 chipset though. There are ADSL modem reviews here

I don't know about the speed but I would say that if you're thinking you might ever want to share the connection using a router or similar, don't get a USB modem. I had a lot of trouble finding an affordable router that could take my USB modem, and in the end the cheapest option was to buy a router with an integrated modem, which obviously was more expensive than if I'd have had an Ethernet modem to start with.
