    Free or shareware Outlook converter

Looking to see if anyone knows of a free OST to PST file converter. I only have the ost file. Somehow my entire exchange mailbox got deleted and I was just lucky I happened to be able to copy my OST file before it synced with the exchange server.
So basically any option in relation to export from outlook is non existent as my outlook account is essentially empty.
    Thanks

If you open your .ost file with outlook on s machine without an internet connection. You can copy create a set of personal folders and copy the contents to that. The .ost file is a cached version of an outlook exchange server account contents - hence the importance of opening outlook without connection to the internet. The exchange server will sync with the .ost file when you do reconnect. Afaik, there is no direct conversion between a .ost file and a .pst file.

These questions do crop up from time to time. Sadly they can attract posts pimping products of dubious provenance - which might be considered as spam - depending on the reputation and posting history of the poster.

IF you open the file in a non-connected Outlook client, you should be able to choose File->Open/Export->Export to a file, then choose PST. Make sure you choose the top level of the mailbox, and tick 'include subfolders'.

Then get your whacking stick and go find the person who borked the server.
