I have just put together a very basic peer to peer network for a friend... I have a problem when trying to access the shared drive on the 2k pro machine, each time it asks for a password, which i don't want... whereas on the xp machines it doesn't ask for one... I know this is probably a basic option somewhere, I just dunno where to look.
under the authentication tab for the connection, "authenticate as guest when user information is unavailable'

ok.... The authentication doesn't appear to be there?? just General... should I be looking somewhere else?
dunno where it is in 2K, only in XP - but it's somewhere about there.

You could enable the guest account, or is that the same thing
Right Click MY COMPUTER > Manage > Local users and Groups > Users > Guest > uncheck the disbaled box > ?

Create an account on the 2k machine for him.
Make the username and passsword the same as on his machine.
