Re: BEst RJ45 crimpers for sub £25 please

now I have run the long cable from downstairs to upstairs, I will shorten to required length and recrimp and I am looking forward to it. Odd I know... but it's a thing my brain settled into

I have tombstones though. G0nzo was good enough to put me onto some and I have them waiting... I might use those soon.

As an even odder aside, my wife has purchased the Coffee Table of Win.

There is a very long history of "The Coffee Table of Win" here on HEXUS. A very long time ago Forum longh termer, Tiggerai, found than an Ikea coffee table exactyl fitted a 1U server. It screwed under the thing, and secured to the legs. That was ... a lobng time ago.

I mentioned it last week to my missus as our Frizt Box router is currently in the livingroom, hence running the cable to the switch for the PC's upstairs. A few days later I came home to find a solid wood, square coffee table being "upcycled", oiled, cleaned and positioned... for me to screw the router too, underneath!
I've NEVER been authorised by the long-haired-leader to connect any PC with anything approaching proper screws to anything. Ever. So now, the Coffee Table of Win will be on cables long enough to pull out and clean behind, in the corner awaiting my cup of coffee thereupon.

I actually built my little ikea rack with the Stuva, 2 pieces of 18mm thick MDF on each side (to bring the 500mm wide into the right dimensions for 19" rack strip) and some 12u rack strip. I also put some old foam I have had kicking about for a while in there to silence it... didnt really work tbh. Its a bit quieter, but not a lot.
