    Network Printer

I have my printer, Canon iP4850, connected to my Windows 10 machine via USB. I previously shared the printer with my Windows 7 computer and it worked OK however now the Windows 7 computer cannot print or connect to the printer. I have not made any changes to settings to either computer. I tried adding the printer again to the Windows 7 computer but it cannot connect to the printer.
I also noticed that there is no sharing tab in the printer properties in the Windows 10 machine.

Any help in trying to sort this out would be much appreciated. THanks

Whats the printer? Have you tried reinstalling the drivers on the Windows 10 machine.

    Re: Network Printer

There definitely should be a sharing tab.

    Have you gone settings>Devices>Printers>Printer Properties>Sharing

    Re: Network Printer

Odd, do you have file and printer sharing turned on ?

    Re: Network Printer

That image is from Device Manager, not the Printer Properties. Start> Printers & Scanners>Open Print Queue>Printer>Sharing

Also: are your Windows 10 and Windows 7 machines both either 32 or 64 bit? While you can use 32 bit drivers on a 64 bit machine you cannot go vice-versa, so it your Win10 machine has the printer shared and is 64 bit then you'll also need to install 32 bit drivers for a 32 bit Win7 machine to use the shared printer.

Thanks. As far as I am aware the drivers are the same for 64 & 32 bit computers. https://www.canon.co.uk/support/cons...207%20(32-bit)
The Windows 7 is 32 bit.
    The printer is shared.[IMG][/IMG]

    Re: Network Printer

Firewall on Windows 10 could block any incoming traffic, worth disabling and checking, but if that fixes the issue, its best to re enable the firewall and then add the inbound printer and folder sharing exemption.

The Windows 7 is 32 bit.

Click Additional Drivers, and make sure that the 32 bit drivers are installed too (they may well have the same driver name, but unless you explicitly install 32 bit drivers it'll not work)
