WHat's the best way to check coonection speed?

My new 1mb Pipex line went 'live' last night and everything seems fine but when I went to adslguide.org and did their speed test, it reported a speed of around 750kbps compared with the expected 900 something. This doesn't sound right, does it? Is there another way I can check the connection speed before I try Pipex customer support. Thanks

I used this and everything seems fine but I have 1 question. On the dowload test, it said that 'cause I have a 1mb connection, I should get dl speeds of 1024kbps. The test showed I was dl'ing at 154kbps. As a result it said there was a problem but I thought 154 was about right? On my old 512k connection dl speed was about 60. Am I right or is there a problem?

1024kilo BITS is what you will be connected at, it works out at around 120 kilo BYTES per second . So nothing to worry about.

Edit: Oh and i ran that program and it gave me a load of rubbish, id stick with adslguide speed tester.

the best way is to download a big file from somewhere with lots of bandwidth. like microsoft. just wait till it settles down normally after 30 MB on a 2 Mbps connection
