Asus AC68U wifi Speeds

Hi All,

So i have 2 Asus AC 68U routers, one of them is the DSL-AC68U (DSL) the other is the RT AC68U (Cable)

They are both on the latest firmware and i have tried therm both independently. Using the App on my iphone called Wifi Sweet spots i can see the speed between the router and the phone (not the internet speed but the internal network speed).

On the RT AC68u, when stood next to the router my iPhone XS gets 550Mbps when i siwtch the router off and turn on the DSL - AC68u i get only 70Mbps. All settings are the same, 5Ghz. I have tried using the Merlin firmware fro both aswell as the standard Asus but the results are the same. DSL is as expected but the RT is very poor.

Any ideas whats causing this?

You're hitting the practical performance limitations of 802.11ac WiFi.

I agree that i am on one router but not the other, anyway.. factory reset fixed it! now getting back up to full speeds
