Ok heres the deal, I have a server that had the name servers setup when it was launched, the domain they were launched again will expire soon and I want to change the nameservers to ones I will be renewing and using for my webhosting deals.
For example my current nameservers are e.g. ns1.domainname.com and ns2.domainname.com. I want to change these and I have 5 ip's to play with and because of the volume of accounts that are planned to sell I will be having ns1, ns2, ns3, ns4 and ns5, fine, not a problem, but the crucial thing is I don't want any downtime, so I want to change them over and the site that I host will update thier records too.
I setup in the mean time ns1.newdomain.com, ns2.newdomain.com and ns3.newdomain.com on the spare 3 ip's I have, and once tehy were working i was going to switch it over on the current 2 name servers so I ended up with 1-5.
Problem is the new ones I have setup don't work, is this because I have two different names across the name servers yet its the same server or do you have any idea?
Where i have quoted domainname and newdomain is just a filler, on the actual accounts I have set the correct nameservers, I can do everything I need, but this nameserver lark is really annoying me, any input would be greatly appreciated...
