    Weird asus ac87u dhcp issue

I've got the above router plugged into a vm sh3 in modem only mode. On Friday evening I lost connection for everything that's attached to a switch coming off the Asus. 169 addresses were coming up so I assumed dhcp was not being handed out to anything connected to the switch. I swapped the switch over and after initially working, it went back to not working again. If I power off the switch it works again for a while, then stops working. I recently updated the firmware on the Asus and I was wondering if there was any security 'feature' put in that stops you feeding connections out to à switch ? Anyone seen this on their Asus routers?

Well, it's amazing what comes to you in that half-life between asleep and awake. Turns out the homeplug I had plugged into the switch was being seen as the uplink. Unplugging everything from the switch but the uplink from the Asus, powering off the switch, then plugging everything back in bar the homeplug, everything works. I tentatively plugged the homeplug back in, and so far no issues.
