    Wired access points

    Hi Everyone,

I am trying to set up a system in our home whereby the internet comes fron the virgin superhub, is then piped through cat 5 cabling in the walls and then into access points which broadcast wifi.

The system seems to work at first when all switched on but then it stops doling out internet after a while, you can join the network but it does not provide any Internet?

Do I need a new router? Or a switch?

What sort of access points? I’ve got similar with BT whole hub mesh and it just works. I tried it with Draytek APs and it never worked quite right....

    Re: Wired access points

Therea a youkuke wireless repeater that also works as an access point, and a TP link router / access point. Can you wire in the mesh routers then? That might be the way forward.

    Re: Wired access points

Hi thanks for your reply - I have tried desperately to get a reply back on to here but seem to be failing! Third time the charm.

It is a TP-Link wireless router (one of them) wired into a bedroom and the other is a youke wireless repeater acting as an access point also wired in to the office. It seems to be the youke thing that seems to eventually throw everything off when it is operating. Do you think I just need a different set of access points. Can I plug in BT whole mesh wifi to cat 5?
