    WIFI Range boosters

    Hello,

Hopefully later this year we plan on going to a holiday home we've used in the past. Last time we was there the router was up in the attic at the far end of the house. Then all the TV/media gear was at the other end of the house which ment Amazon Prime/Netflix etc failed to work that well.

I was thinking of getting a wifi booster to solve this problem but do you need physical access to the router in order to complete the setup? The owners have provided us with the wifi password but not the routers admin password. The router is in a locked cabinet along with the smart meter (trust me - not my idea of a place to put it!).

Thanks in advance for any replies.

    Re: WIFI Range boosters

For the sort of wifi boosters I've seen and used, you only require the wifi password, as they simply rebroadcast the wifi signal.

Unfortunately as I mentioned the main router is locked away so I have no access to it - hence asking if I need access to it. If it was my own holiday home CAT6 wifi mesh everywhere

    Thanks for the replies
