What FTTP provider?

I've just been informed that I can now get FTTP. As I've been working at home (doing devops stuff) for years and only have a ~ 30MBPs connection this is going to be pretty game changing (especially when the kids get back from school and start youtubing/gaming etc).

Is there any advantage of going with one ISP over another? I don't care about BT Sport, and I can't find any other deals which give me extras. I'm going to be going for the full 900MB/s if that makes any difference. I'm leaning towards Zen, but only because I've been with them for years.

I have the full 900MB/s package with BT. I've been with them for just over a year now. They aren't the cheapest but speeds are consistently high and I've had no issues at all.

I had originally gone with TalkTalk. They were awful. Didn't show up on 2 occasions, CS was a nightmare (hours on the phone). Avoid them like the plague. Also, check Quidco etc. Always good cashback on new internet deals.

Thankfully BT aren't in my new area, so I'm with Zzoomm. 450d/450u
If ever I feel that's slow, I can go to 2000
I'd go for a local company over BT but the small ones are only in pockets of an area.
There's Trooli and City fibre that I'm aware of round here.

I've just done the same exercise within the past few weeks. Installed as of last Friday!

Went with EE as I already use them for mobile and the discount was pretty good. Plus, they seem fairly relaxed in terms of using your own equipment (router etc.) Plus, UK call centres if ever support is needed.

Further to Guy's comment, definitely try to go with one that allows you to use your own router. I use 3x Asus AX86u's in a mesh to make the most of the speeds that 900MB/s gets you (and even then top out at around 600MB/s wirelessly).

Yeah, deffo use someone that will let you use your own hardware, I hate being with NowTV because their routers are pants.

I am with BT too and wireless range is much lower than they advertise. Good idea to look into different rooter. I currently use additional rooters wired to the original BT one. They extend the range a lot.
