Trying to cancel Now Broadband and... can't?

    Wow, what a ridiculous company.

I'm in the process of moving house and didn't have the option of an automated switch from Now.

The only way you can cancel is by calling up apparently and every time I call up it is a 40min queue. I'm currently on a monthly rolling contract I cannot speak to anyone to cancel.

If I cancel the recurring card charge (it isn't a DD) will that be classed as settled, does anyone know? There's loads of people on their forum complaining about the very same thing.

for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

Last I found out, you can't necessarily cancel a recurring card charge, the charging company has to do so, unless you cancel the card, but they will probably most likely charge you until you speak to them. Make sure you use something like saynoto0870 and I hope it doesn't take a day off work!

Be Careful on the Internet! I ran and tackled a drive by mining attack today. It's not designed to do anything than provide fake texts (say!)

Re: Trying to cancel Now Broadband and... can't?

Something like that should really be on their website, any other service would let you but being owned by Sky they probably want you to ring up so they can get you on another contract.
I used to have Now TV which I don't remember being a hassle to cancel your subscription.

Is there really no option in the Account settings, if you had to change an expiring card can it not be done online?

Re: Trying to cancel Now Broadband and... can't?

So in my sheer boredom today I did manage to get through to someone after being on hold for 38 minutes. Cancelled within about 2 mins no questions asked.

Just completely baffling. The service over the last year has actually been alright and I was offered a renewal at the same price at the end of the 12 months at my new customer cost, but there's simply faster speeds at the place I'm moving to having been stuck on 67Mb/s for 12 months.
