I don't really have any particular interest in WiFi, I didn't realise WiFi 6 or 6E was a thing until my router started playing up then I've ended up on a bit of a journey for a replacement. My key interest is in LAN capabilities.

Firstly it's looking like Windows 10 is NOT going to be supported by WiFi 7.
This is a little disappointing, but I'm sure WiFi 6E would be more than plentiful for the majority of scenarios.

Next, I can't find exactly when WiFi 7 is coming. Last year most sites reported late this year or early 2024.
More recently sites seem to claim anywhere from 2024 to 2025. Wiki estimates May 2024.
Some suggestions claim that WiFi 6E devices could be released but updated to WiFi 7, once it becomes officially available, with firmware. A risky strategy but recalling the Pre-N days it's not completely mad.

Currently it's hard to find routers with enough 2.5g/10g ports on to warrant paying the extra price. However, WiFi 7 routers address this much better, a number of models on the horizon will support, at long last, 4x 2.5gb not just 1 or 2 (and then being forced to buy another switch).

So I am looking forward to the new routers coming out:
