Recommend how to get NTL to reconnect.

I know a girl (who is quite fit) who needs help. SHe just formatted her PC and installed XP. Shes now downloading the xxx number of updates.

Her problem is shes on NTL 56k which disconnects every 2 hours, and doesn't reconnect. What she wants is a program or sumthing that will reconnect for her so she can leave it downloading overnight.

Suggestions ???

Windows has a built in feature to do that? "Reconnect on line drop" or something, look in the settings of the dial-up device and you should see it - quite a few options on it, you might wanna play around till you get the right one(s)

Well i would download it for her, but shes 50 miles away . Tried the reconnect thing and it didn't work, so looking for a 3rd party program.

not sure tbh m8, i recal m8s having this problem years ago and i think there was some program, guess you tried google? although send her a CD + if she lives 50miles your chances shrink quite abit

Think there used to be a program called lemon dialler which did this, is a while back but worth checking.
