    ADSL Corruption Issue?

    Hi All,
I've been having problems with my recently activated UKOnline 2Mbit/s ADSL service. This is probably entirely unrelated but the DHCP lease my router acquired had the wrong DNS servers specified so I had to telnet into the router and manually set the right DNS servers (the web-config doesn't allow this setting for some reason!)

As soon as I could get DNS working and get to sites, I started having sporadic problems viewing pages. I seem to be getting random corruption in any data I receive. Normally after a few refreshes a page will load fine but it's be nice not to need this. Also, any medium-large files I download frequently have faulty CRC. Bit-torrent hashes also nearly always fail hash checks.

Any suggestions as to what I can do to either pin down the cause or fix this?

    Many Thanks!

It's a Thomson SpeedTouch 580. (Yes, I know... but it was free!)

I'm using only the built-in SP2 firewall at the moment, but disabling that makes no difference. Grr.

Nothing wrong with the speedtouch 580..it's a good little router.

I can't see anything there that could be causing the problem tbh...i think i would be on the phone to UKOnline if i were you

Unless of course you have a virus or some particularly nasty spyware ?

Edit : Which version of the firmware is the speedtouch running ?

The speedtouch is running the latest firmware. I'm not actually using the router to do DNS forwarding any more, I've made the DHCP lease specify UKOnline's servers directly. Will give it another couple of days then shout at UKOnline
