    BB trouble....can someone advise please?

I'm having very bad online gaming connections, which i believe to be due to slow ping timings.

Also, web browsing is slower than usual but downloading is fine.

I can't ping www.bbc.net.uk for some strange reason, coming up as host unreachable...aswell as some other sites, but i can access them via firefox/IE.

I've cleared my DNS cahce and Internet Temp Files.

Have i got my connection settings correctly??

My TCP/IP for the internet is set as auto detect.
My TCP/IP is set to what my WAP is....albeit changing the last number by a little.

I had the DNS as what ISP told me it was...now trying it as auto detect.

Dunno if it's worth mentioning but my BB internet is not always on. Everytime i use it, i need to 'dial' into it, taking about 2-3 secs. This is normal right?? As my adsl modem has no LAN port....not bothered about it, so....

Also, the internet connection is shown in Internet Connections as ISDN....but it has always been like this for 2-3 yrs now....speed is no probs.

    Can anyone advise??

USB modems tend to load up the host processor a bit - for fastest connections a PCI ADSL modem is slightly better than an ethernet modem/router. Not being able to ping a website is not necessarily a cause for concern - not all web site servers return ICMP packets.

all spyware/trojans have been checked by ad-aware, MS Spyware and Norton Anitvirus etc.
No other traffic have been detected.

It's only recently that this has happened. Maybe it's not me...the isp?
Just annoying the pants outta me as i cant play Street Fighter without being beaten silly or disconnected.
