Wireless IP Camera

Has anyone invested in a wireless IP camera? I'm after a good quality wireless IP camera (must have very good low light performance without having to rely on IR LED's). It must also support 802.11g or higher and have a resolution of SVGA or better. Any recommendations?

I basically want to replace my current CCTV system with a wireless IP one. My current system is plugged directly into a video recorder and is used to monitor the area around my car (I had some problems with local yobs nicking bits off it!). This wears out the recorder and tapes. I would rather have the video image created directly on my hard drive.

Anti-Wireless rant:

Wireless is for PDA's Tablet's and Laptop's

THATS IT

ITS NOT FOR NETWORKING FIXED ITEAMS THAT AREN'T MOVING AROUND.

Running Cat5e really is childsplay, infact my farther had me do all the wiring when i was < 11 because i could fit through all the crawls spaces..... come to think of it i think there are laws against that!

Wireless is piss easy to launch a DoS (Denial of Service) attack apon, because similarally to a token ring network, when a device detects something on its channel, it waits a growing amount of time between each transmission attempt.

But more to the point wireless just dosen't work reliably, end of story, i've played with 2,500 grands worth of enterprise gear, which has really clever DoS protection, also has spoof protection and other really nice features. Point is, it still drops out.

Save yourself money, get a cabled one, improve your security. I've seen them nocking about for £60 on ebay, not bad quality ones (no camera posisitioning control, but do you really need that? Just buy 2 cameras for the same price, with HDD prices as they are its not too expensive to record!)

Sorry for the rant.

well i prefer wireless...

1. i have far too many cables running around as it is
2. i get a top strength connection, two floors up from the router (granted i have to use a signal booster)
3. no around here is gonna bother let alone know how to crack the simplest of wep
4. its hell of a lot easier to add, take things out of the network

*counter rant over

I prefer wireless too. I've got wireless all over my flat - my PC, my own laptop, my printers and my work laptop all connect via WiFi. Even my XBox is wireless. I don't really want to run any cables as it's a flat so there are some restrictions about holes in walls and pulling up floorboards.

£372 is still quite expensive - probably because this ones got remote-controlled pan and tilt. I wonder if Scan would put this one in Today Only for £150!
