Connecting an iPod to a network

I've solved the pain of charging my new iPod nano by connecting it to my wireless router. Since it was in disk mode as well, I was expecting it to show up on my network. Obviously it didn't; is it possible to do what I'm trying or is it wasted effort?

What are you trying to do? - chargeing it will work; showing up as a network drive probably won't.

I was originally trying to just charge it. I then wondered if it would show up as a network drive. I'm not bothered if it doesn't, I was just interested.
