    USB Ethernet Adapter

    Could I use an USB ethernet adapter on an external drive and connect it to my network???

    I'm afraid not. The only reason those adapters work on a computer is because of specialised drivers, and even if the hard drive somehow had those drivers it wouldn't have the protocols to use a network in the first place.

    Yep you canna do it... you need a drive with built in ethernet capability OR something like the Linksys NSLU2...
