    Altenative broadband methods

Im tired of the BT phone bill for line rental when we use VoIP for all our calls now.
I don’t want to go to telewest.
So im after suggestions for intenet access, around the 2 meg mark, with 256 upload bare minimum, without a phoneline.

    Any offers ?

i think your only alternative is satellite broadband, and after a quite search, your going to pay about 4 times (at least) than ADSL. So i would just put up with a BT bill.

I'm the same, although i don't use VOIP, i just use my 200 free any network and time minutes on my mobile, and i never run out of them.

it was my understanding that most satelite broadband used your phoneline for the upstream therefore limiting it to about the same as dialup, or has that changed now?

The chaper ones do - but you can get two way satellite - at a cost. Keeping the phone line is cheaper!

    why not TW?
I've used them for years, and found them much more reliable (and faster) than any of the ADSL provided I've had to use.
I'm now on their 10mb service (after another free upgrade) and I've never had a lower ping. I've even been able to add another server to my network, without affecting either my mail server or my CS:S sessions!
