I have just bought a 3Com Wireless Router / ADSL Modem and a 3Com USB adapter after seeing this bundle at a good price on the Bargain Hunt Hexus Forum.
I also have a Bluetooth USB dongle that is about a year and a half old.
With the wireless network setup, i.e. the 3Com USB adapter plugged in and working, if the Blueooth dongle is also plugged in while the PC starts up, Windows XP hangs at the login screen after about 5 seconds.
With the Bluetooth dongle removed from the USB port and reinserted while Windows is still running normally, at the desktop, WiFi and Bluetooth work in perfect harmony, 24-7, 100% with no drop outs.
So why the annoying hang on boot? Should I buy a new Bluetooth adapter?
I am running SP2 with the generic Microsoft Bluetooth driver. I have tried a Beklin USB Wifi adapter and it still hangs when the Bluetooth adapter is plugged in upon Windows boot.
