I have linksys WAG54G - bought it in Dubai - £45 - never drops the broadband connection or wireless connection and much cheaper than Netgear. They didnt sell netgear in Dubai.

this is a modem and router in one box.

Linksys or netgear - most routers do what they say on the box, so its a question of deciding what facilities yiu want and those that fit within your budget. Do you want 4 ethernet ports or one? Is a USB port essential? What spped wirelss connectivity - will wireless be your main requirement? What OS will you be using on the computers with it? WEP or WPA or both?

Ideally you need to be tighter on your specifications for meaningful recommendations...

If you want to really be able to tinker with all sorts of settings like allowing access from certain IP addresses restricted to times of the day and blocking of key words to certain IP addresses (invaluable with children, I can restrict when they can get on the net and filter out all those bad words that are only allowed to be sent to my laptop ) then the the Zyxel 660HW is the one to get. Currently available at a few places with a free 108Mbps PCMCIA network adapter for around £70.
Rock solid in operation, and just sooooo many features that you'll not find on other routers at this price.
