A reason not to buy from Belkin

Has anyone seen this article on The Register?

Shocking, I hope other networking companies don't try and pull the same stunt!

Jesus Christ. Point blank, never buying another Belkin Product, ever (and I have never said that about anything before).

People shouldn't have to "Opt-Out" of anything because they never "Opted In" in the first place.

Makes me want to punch the compaines CEO square in the face.

Jeeez - what will they think of next - must admit that if I was in charge at Belkin and had thought of that one, I would have been pretty proud of myself - free advertising - yoiks!

Thats a bit shocking from the company. I dont like Belkin anyway, too goodie too shoes for me, they seem they always work, sure cable I'll buy from them as a cable is a cable and not really worth fussing about.

    hmmm...

    shame on Belkin

Talk about pestering the customer who has paid good money for your product.

(in a roundabout way) This reminds me of software like AutoCad - after you've forked out a huge wad of cash, you have to jump through hoops, send off forms, etc, in order to keep using the software you've already paid for.

Obviously, slipping a advert pamphlet in the box along with the instruction manual isn't enough for Belkin.

Good to see off slashdot that one will soon be able to disable it, although it doesn't clarify if it will be enabled by default.
