Weird e-mail thing happening...

On my Mum's PC she is getting multiple e-mails from people.... not so odd I know, but these are exact duplicates.. essentially the same mail over and over again. I'm watching number 19 of 43 mails download now. They're all the same.

So the question is, is there something up at my Mum's end or with the server cos she's doing me nut in.

I've checked her Outlook express set-up and the 'leaea copy on the server' box is un-checked... so why the multiple mails?

Help, before I commit matricide!

sounds like a problem at the server end or their end tbfh

could log into the mail server manually via telnet, delete the messages, wait an hour & see if more arrive...

"telnet mailserver 110"
"user username"
"pass password"
"list" to see how many messages are there & their size in bytes
"retr n" to retieve message number n
"stat" for total number of messages & space used
"noop" every 30 secs or you get timed out for inactivity
"dele n" to erase message number n
"rset" to cancel message deletion
"quit" to confirm deletion & quit

It doesn't accept my username and password, says Invalid username or password. That's NTL for you

its Boltblue, I went to their homepage and entered my mums details from there and accessed her mailbox, deleted all the mails.... just gonna wait and see what happens...
