    NTL Broadband & Router Question

Going to stay with friends for a couple of weeks who have NTL broadband.
Is there a way I can use my Netgear DG834gt on their system?
    cheers.

unless one of the ports is a standard uplink - not the adsl modem (which i doubt), then unfortunately the answer is no

Correct it doesn't have one, you need a standard wireless router, not an wireless adsl modem router,

presuming wat u hav is a hub you cud get the person who connects directly to net to share the connection over network and act as a birdge between the modem and hub. but this wud require the person to have 1) 2 enet ports or 2) modem plugged in by usb.

This question has been asked before. Bottom line is that it won't work. The NTL box will have a built in modem, as will the 834, both of which will be trying to send signals to the router even if you managed to get them to communicate with other (which is highly unlikely). And you wouldn't be able to bypass the NTL box as the 834 is an ADSL modem rather than a cable modem.

Your best best could be to buy something like a Buffalo WYR-54 - they work perfectly with NTL boxes. About £25.
