Simple network question...(Do not remove from GD plz)

I am getting a Laptop on Friday and it comes with a built in 10/100 Network card. What cables + hardware do i need to buy to network my PC (with currently no network capabilities) and the laptop??

Also, the system must be setup so i can share the internet between the laptop + PC.

You dont need a Hub/Switch at all. All you need is a 10/100Mb NIC for the PC and a crossover cable. No need to waste money.

Try using eBuyer, they have cards for like £1. Also, that cable doesn't state crossover, so make sure you get one that states that it is crossover.

mgh0: Yeah, but doing it this way loses no money as all the parts can be used when he goes bigger, but there is no point at the moment.
