External connection to a Rezinet LAN

Iv just moved into university, however due to applying late i got stuck with a non-university managed accomodation.

The university run accomodation all connects to Rezinet (ISP), which feeds them internet through a LAN. As its a LAN, files get shared very quickly(1,000kb/s+)) which makes transfering files between friends a lot easier. Unfortunutly because my accomodation isnt part of Rezinet, im cut off from all of this, and cant find a way of connecting.

Is there any way for an externail IP(me) to connect into their LAN, or am i totally stuck?

    cheers guys.

edit: the program im using is DC++.

first off, piracy in halls, its like sticking your name and address on everything. Consider a 'darknet'. There WILL be one operating (enless your uni has a really **** CS dep).

Ask for VPN access to the network. You might need to think up a reason for this!
