    Unhappy Connection Keeps Dropping

    Internet Connection Drops

I am having real trouble with my DSl internet connection. I use a Netgear DM602 modem in router mode on a lan connection. Sometimes when I login it does not connect. I have to go to the connection and slect repair. I have to do this several times and then it will start working. Any ideas what could cause this?

    Windows XP
    Netgear Dm602 (Lan connection)
    ZAP Firewall

Are there Issues with Zone Alarm pro? I was told it was a reliable software firewall. Can you suggest an alternative? I will uninstall it tonight.

    Thanks

Hide, why? Whilst I think I can see what 5lab is aiming at, his last point - on face value - is not one that everyone is likely to agree with.

Post back if you are still having issues

if you could get the s/w firewall to work behind the router, it would be a good second line of defence. any suggestions people?
For joy, apparently, it was all Franny could do to hold the phone, even with both hands.
