Sygate blocking network

Hi,

I installed Sygate firewall earlier to replace Comodo (was testing it...).

I allowed the windows services that it said to allow to make the network work but my PC still couldn't get an IP for the network.

I even tried setting Sygate to allow all and it still didn't work.

Any ideas how I can sort it please?

If you uninstall Sygate and reboot do you get on the network ok?

I have found that if Sygate thinks it's getting attacked then it shuts down the internet connection leading to very strange activity.

I used to use it and had to create a 'rule' for my local network ensuring that all ports were unblocked within the LAN - so for example if you're in the range of 192.168.0.x ->192.168.0.255 on your LAN create a special rule to bypass the firewall. It still blocks external threats and programs fine tho.
I now use Tiny Personal Firewall Pro instead as it seems a bit better.

Yep, it works fine when Sygate is uninstalled.

Hmmm, I did that as well and it still didn't let me onto the network

I uninstalled Sygate after I got caught out by this again and because I'm sat behind a fairly secure router I now just use Windows firewall. It's simple but it works.

True, I would be safe with my router firewall and windows firewall, but I like to control what applications have what access
