Looking for a good value gigabit switch

    Hey guys,

I currently have a draytek 2600 G router but after some pretty bad weather lately 2 of the Ethernet ports on the back are fried.

All the rigs in my house now have gigabit nics in so i`m thinking i`ll buy a gigabit switch to run behind the Router and share the connection that way.

Now this is for home use so i dont need stupidly expensive ciscos etc I just want a good value 8 port switch.

    Any ideas?

Netgear GS108. Compact, sturdy little metal-cased jobby, 16Gbps architecture, so all 8 ports get a full 2Gbps bandwidth (1Gbps each way, full duplex). £58 to you, squire.... And yes, they do a cheaper 8-port, made of tacky white plastic, but I wouldn't, so I'm not going to advise anyone else to . I use the GS116 at work on our workbench, and it behaves itself very well.

I've got the 5 port version and it's rock solid. Jumbo Frames are only supported on some serial numbers:

Cheers for that, I wasn't aware they had shipped versions that weren't JF capable!
