    Kids: Do they have RADAR?

How does my little lad hear those "phrases" from 3 rooms and 2 floors away?

    Even in a whisper.....

I can't say anything quietly without him echoing it... from another part of the house or garden.

He's close to 3 yo.. does it get worse?

Re: Kids: Do they have RADAR?

Dare I ask about the phrases in question?...

They do seem to have selective & superhero-style hearing when it suits them though, does he understand when you spell out words such as i-c-e-c-r-e-a-m or -c-h-o-c-o-l-a-t-e yet? Jack is getting close I reckon!

I don't know about kids, but my dog can hear the word walk from 17 miles away! Seriously!

    He's even twigged onto W-A-L-K :\.

It's a good job I love walking him, otherwise he'd be constantly running around my legs and whining at the bottom of the stairs. And he's a 4 year old Springer Spaniel, so walking him 4 or 5 times a day is a must really..

A bit off-topic, but it reminds me of this old mate of ours, a vicar. He had a dog, maybe a greyhound/lurcher cross, who used to be exactly the same - always wanting to go out. We saw him in the park one day, and after a while he said he was off home. He shouts her name twice, and she completely ignores him, nose in the undergrowth, so instead he shouts "Walkies!!!" She bounds over, phenomenally excited and then he pops her lead on, with her still ecstatic that she's about to go on a walk .

One of them has to be "Is it in yet?"

My little sister used to hate hearing the word bath, even if we spelt it out..we ended up having to spell it backwards.

Then one day when she was in the baby bath..she some how managed to pull the plug out lol.

You didn't leave the baby monitors on did you Zak33 ?

Kids pick up on everything spoken. I've noticed this with Hayden as shes trying to say stuff that she hears all the time, especially when the rest of the tribe are in the house

Re: Kids: Do they have RADAR?

When I was younger I could hear my parents discussing (whispering ) christmas presents from rooms away. This was when I was around 10-11. So yeah I guess you do get better with age
