inspired copying... when a kid copies what you draw

    Lo parents.

For over a year now, my 3 1/2 year old lad has been into trying to copy us for drawing. He's getting into his letters and spelling his name, by copying it.

But last weekend we had a little "robot" session where I drew silly robots and he copied them.

and I drew a square,, quite dull, uniform robot.....

and the item that is now my AVATAR (look left <-----) came from him onto the page.

And that... that is just the cutest creation I've ever seen.

But.. I think I've seen it before somewhere! So... have YOU seen that image before? Has my kid been abducted by artists and shown how to draw cartoons.....

or is it just the most divine fluke ever?

either way.. it's the most perfect thing I've seen for a long long while

Your lad is roughly the same age as ours then :0

He's all of a sudden started drawing people (ie circles with arms legs, hair & shoes!) Obviously in pride of place on the fridge!

Isn't that robot either from a kids TV show or at the end of a show (ie the production company?)

Admit it Zak, you drew it yourself

More seriously, a good drawing from the wee lad.

Re: inspired copying... when a kid copies what you draw

One of my best Christmas pressies was from Sally's granddaughter, who, knowing of my interest in birdwatching and the use of optics, made me a pair of binoculars from empty toilet rolls they even had a strap made of another unrolled toilet roll.

    awwwwwwww sweeet.
    Cheers, David
