    Anyone can offer some good legal advice?

    Without running off to an `underpaid` solicitor, i dont suppose anyone can offer some good legal advice?

    short version:

    how do i go about adding my name to my daughters birth certificate - mother is really non co operative; PR is a moot point as she`s 15 1/2 so we decide what she wants to do and when between ourselves.

    Depends on how co-operative the mother is.

    Do you have PR? If not I'd suggest negociating for it. Ultimately without PR you have all the downsides such as loosing your income, without any say in the childs development.

    Definitely read the link Animus posted, specifically these:

    3. I HAVENT GOT PR AT THE MOMENT. HOW DO I GET IT?
    •applying to the court for an order (if the child's mother has refused to make an agreement with you, or you're unable to add your name to the birth certificate).

    5. HOW CAN WE CHANGE OUR CHILD'S BIRTH CERTIFICATE SO MY NAME IS ON IT?
    •If you're the child's natural father and you want your name to be added to the birth certificate, you will have to re-register his or her birth.

    You do have legal rights, you can probably do all the paperwork yourself, but there will be some fees to be aware of.

    A good place to start would be google or even an appointment with CAB.

    Or be lazy and pay someone to do it for you.

    will try the CAB tommorrow - been doing some footwork allready ; looks like i need a court appointment for a Declaration of Parentage;

    aha!

    Proceedings under the Family Law Act 1986(j)
    7.1 On an application for a declaration of parentage (each child). £150

    + paperwork needed to support the application
