I received my son's end of year reported card. Mini_Domestic had a good year, however reading the report card his first grade was a 2; attained his target with a b for effort. OK I think. Next 2b. Ok. Next 2b. Hang on I think; 2b for everything on the first page. Next page ;2b for everything. Flick to last page; 2b for everything.
I know his handwriting is not very good. However on reading the maths part; I discover he can add and substract. Now I know he can multiply and divide. He can do percentages and fractions. What is impressive is the fact he will go quiet for a little bit after getting a tough question. You think he has given up or is bored but will come out with answer after a little bit.
Science; he can describe sensory perception; great. I know he also has a very fundamental concept of gravity and how you put somwthing into orbit; helped in no small part by angry birds star wars but on explaining he did realise without prompting that I exerted a gravimetric attraction on him.
Maybe the classes are too big, teachers not developing their pupils or is it just target meeting for government reports.
I'm wondering if they challenge him enough. I'm so proud; seeing them develop makes all those trials worth it!
