    6200TC Adequate?

Okay am giving a PC to my mum and wondered whether a 6200TC would suffice for general desktop usage, browsing internet, odd bit of photo/video work.

Not really gonna be used for any gaming (atm I have my old 6800 Ultra in there) but I dont wanna give her that..

She would be running 1280x1024 at the very most id suspect

    So will this do:

Can probably stretch to £30 if i had to maybe a bit more - but if that will do then its fine

It would also be useful if it could run aero etc!

I had a 6200TC in my work computer for a while(until I upgraded to a 6200 non turbocache) and it will drive a 1280x1024 display fine and even run a game like Halo or UT2004 quite well!! It should be even OK for MS Vista too!! So the answer IMHO is yes!

Scan also have the 6500 this weekend at the same price as the 6200TC - so you have choice now:

    Yup, I agree.
A mate has a fairly powerful desktop with a 6200TC in it - supprising how well it runs games, including HL2!

You could probably get a low end 7xxx series for a close price now though

After doing a few 3DMark tests the 6200 non-Tc is about as powerful as a old 9500pro!!

The 6200TC is around half as powerful IMHO! Still it is not too bad for under 20 quid!!
