yeh i know how you feel, however my next upgrade has to be a new graphics card to replace my g4 rather than going all 64bit, but at £175, thats half the price of the 3200+ (albeit with half the cache), but still keeps up with it in the majority of benchmarks.

Na, its full cache, just half disabled/doesnt work.

Na, the 2nd half of the cache is faulty. They are just selling off potential dud cpus. Like intel did with cele's and amd did with durons at a time.

the 256kb level 2 cache on durons is faulty as well, thats why not all mod ok, but some do and there ok, its just at higher clock speeds they get more flakey, so they can only run at slower speeds - so ive been told anyway

The cache isn't actually there.... The die is smaller in size.

from what I have read the Cache is there, the die size is the same, Just half of it has been disabled.

These are the Dud CPU, the real "Newcastle" cores which have a smaller die size are due Q1 2004.

Whatever way the cookie crumbles they look nice... I do wonder though what AMD pricing policy is going to be coming in the new year with Prescott coming, though Prescott looks to be a bit of a let down.
