Crashing to Desktop

i have just installed another 512Mb stick of ram into my SS51G shuttle it is generic ram 333mhz which as far as i am aware should work fine in my pc my other stick of ram is also 333mhz samsung 512mb.Every game i try to run, it drops back to the desktop now after around 10 seconds of play.Can anyone give me any clues to why this could be.

Have you tried the sticks independantly of each other (with or without a memtest...)

If they both work fine on their own it could possibly be that the 2 sticks are incompatible with each other :/

I have just adjusted the DRAM settings in BIOS from normal to SAFE mode and it seems to work,is it ok to leave it in SAFE mode or shall i try and get it into NORMAL mode or perhaps even TURBO.

Is it working fine with both sticks?

Im not sure with the shuttle BIOS it sounds litk this adjustment is for ram timings....

Its possible that the generic ram just cant handle tight timings.....

Yes it works with both sticks now mate.

This generic ram has been overclocked by its previous owner so it should be fine as i am not overclocking at all.
