On a win 98 machine I get a message Error printing to LPT1 trying to print to a hp laserjet 1200. Any idea's what it could be?
Try completely removing drivers, do a manual install and point it to the .inf file driver. Download the drivers from the HP site.
See if that works.
Did it work previously? Has anything changed? Can you hook the printer to something else and check it works? Restarting the PC often fixes problems (it is Windows, after all)Quote:

Sounds like either the LPT port is disabled in the BIOS or isn't working. Check in device manager to see if the port is listed.
